Property Setting
A prospect-stage gold target on the Abitibi Greenstone Belt (Wawa-Abitibi Subprovince, Superior Province, Neoarchean ~2.7 Ga), ~13 km WSW of the Timmins gold camp (>80 Moz Au). The host package is Tisdale-age volcanics — the same age as Hollinger, Dome and McIntyre — with a pyrrhotite-rich banded iron formation (BIF) mapped over ≥650 m strike.
A possible splay of the Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone projects through the property from the Wawaitin Falls / Hydro Bay area; the Mattagami River Fault flanks the east along the Grassy River. Aunor Gold Mines (~1.7 Moz Porcupine producer) optioned the ground in 1946 and drilled 3 SW-oriented holes (2,111 ft) — DDH No. 2 returned 0.08 oz/t Au (≈2.74 g/t Au) over a 2-ft sample within the BIF. Compilation completed to NI 43-101 standards; modern drilling and field verification is the recommended next step.
